Our policies and procedures
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
March 17, 2020
1st Option Health Care Services has established a team of dedicated clinicians, administrators and compliance professionals to respond to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the State of Louisiana. We are also monitoring the at-risk populations that we serve in our Acadiana community. Our team is working hard to address and organize efforts as we come together with other healthcare providers across the nation in dealing with issues surrounding the coronavirus.
Our organization is currently initiating protocols which were recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), which include pre-screening for patients as well as our office and clinical staffs. We are also working to ensure that we are providing personal protection equipment including droplet protection and supplies to our workforce in a manner that serves them and our patient population within the guidelines that have been set forth by the CDC.
We are also consistently educating and updating our entire staff on the issues regarding the COVID-19 virus as the pertain to incidence, risk, signs & symptoms, and testing when needed. Our dedicated team of professionals that are assigned these tasks are working to ensure that changes in determinants and guidelines from the CDC, World Health Organization (WHO), National Institute of Health (NIH), and Louisiana Department of Health & Hospitals (DHH) are consulted frequently and updated as new information becomes available.
We believe that patients that are medically stable can be safely treated in the home with the right precautions in place. We take our responsibility as a locally owned Home Care provider very seriously and will aggressively continue to work to protect our employees and our patients in all situations that we encounter. We recognize that there may quickly become a time where acute care facilities become stressed or at capacity. We believe that this moment in time is one in which Home Health & Home Infusion can absolutely make a difference in the ability of patients to safely receive the care they need while socially distancing to prevent the further spread of this virus. We wish all of the residents of Acadiana as well as the State of Louisiana and our Nation a very speedy recovery and well wishes.
